Step 1 — Go to the portal: Visit sdmis.nios.ac.in. This is the only official NIOS admission portal. Do not use any other website.

Step 2 — Select your stream: Choose Stream 1 for fresh admission. Stream 2 if you failed a board exam and want Transfer of Credit. Step 3 — Register and verify mobile: Click Register, enter your mobile number (UAE numbers accepted), and verify via OTP. Keep this number accessible throughout the process.

Step 4 — Fill personal and academic details: Enter name, date of birth, address, and contact details. For location, select UAE. Choose your Accredited Institution (AI — study centre). This determines where you attend for practical exams and support.
