Use the table in Section 4 above to confirm whether you are Stream 1, 2, or ODE before touching the form. Getting this wrong after submission cannot be undone.
Click Register, enter your mobile number (UAE numbers accepted for OTP verification), and verify. This number will be your primary contact throughout.
Enter name, date of birth, address, and contact details. Select UAE as your location. Choose your Accredited Institution (AI — your study centre) from the portal’s overseas list.

UAE students are classified as overseas learners and pay a higher fee than domestic Indian students. The exact current fee is displayed on the portal during registration — always verify at sdmis.nios.ac.in before paying. Payment is accepted via credit card, debit card, UPI, or net banking. The admission fee is non-refundable once paid.

TMA (Tutor Marked Assignment) is NIOS’s internal assessment system. For every academic subject you enrol in under Stream 1, a TMA booklet of assignments must be completed and submitted to your Accredited Institution (AI — study centre) before the exam.

NIOS conducts public board examinations in two cycles every year — April/May and October/November. Theory papers run from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (with 15 minutes reading time from 2:15 PM). You register and pay the exam fee separately from admission — this is a common source of confusion. The exam fee is a second, separate payment made approximately 2–3 months before the exam date.

Subjects with practical components (Science, some vocational subjects) require physical attendance at your Accredited Institution (AI) in the UAE. Practical exams are typically held in March (for April session) and September (for October session). Attendance is mandatory — practicals cannot be done remotely.
